Real Wedding: Hayleigh-Jayne & Essjay at Sheepy Meadows in Atherstone

Rain, wind, sunshine, drag queens and tipis – this wedding had everything, and it was an absolute joy to capture every minute of it!

Hayleigh-Jayne and Essjay were married at Sheepy Meadows – a laid-back tipi venue in the grounds of Mythe Barn, just outside Atherstone.  The day began with grey skies and a stormy breeze, but right on cue, the sun broke through for the ceremony and stayed out long enough to light up the fields, the laughter and the dancefloor.

The couple’s styling was bright, joyful and full of personal touches.  Bridesmaids wore yellow, with pops of colour everywhere else – a celebration of love and LGBTQ+ identity in full colour.  The tipis were beautifully dressed by @elegantlybe_events, who also brought the DJ, lighting and dancefloor that kept the energy high all evening.

We loved how relaxed the whole day felt – from guests wrapped in jackets against the wind, to golden-hour portraits across the meadow once the skies cleared.  And the entertainment?  Unforgettable.  @og.misstutu brought full drag sparkle to the tipi, and our bell tent photobooth from Vintage Booth captured plenty of silliness in between the more emotional moments.

Hair and makeup by @chloehair and @rlm_make_up kept the brides looking amazing from first look to last dance, while food by Crow Hill Premier Pig Roast and Hamiltons Catering UK fuelled the celebration in proper countryside wedding style.  The whole day was tied together beautifully with our good friend Nigel the toastmaster – @tamworthtoastmaster doing his thing!

A little bit of everything made this day what it was – romantic, fun, heartfelt and totally them.  We’re so grateful we got to be part of it!
