Real Wedding: Amanda & Alex at Rothley Court in Leicestershire

Crisp air, warm colours, pumpkins, pinecones and a ring-bearing dog – Amanda and Alex’s autumn wedding at Rothley Court had all the cosy charm you’d hope for from a late-season celebration, and as a Leicestershire wedding photographer we loved every moment of photographing it.  It’s always great to get the drone up on a day like this, as the aerial views and drone photography of Rothley Court are amazing, with stunning Leicestershire rolling fields behind.

Rothley Court is one of those venues that feels magical in autumn.  The atmospheric stairway, old textured stone walls, gorgeously authentic chapel and stunning grounds all create the perfect backdrop for a day filled with seasonal details.  Amanda and Alex leaned fully into the theme with wooden décor, miniature pumpkins, pinecones and rich autumn tones that carried beautifully through the ceremony and reception.

The ceremony itself was full of personality and emotion, not least thanks to their four-legged guest of honour.  Charlie, the family dog, proudly trotted the rings down the aisle – tail wagging, crowd smiling – and it instantly became one of our favourite moments of the day.  It was heartfelt, joyful and so perfectly them.

After the vows, guests enjoyed the mild, dry weather as we explored the grounds for portraits.  Rothley Court always delivers gorgeous backdrops, but the autumn colours made everything feel extra special.  Amanda and Alex were relaxed, natural and a joy to photograph – exactly the kind of couple who make our job easy.

Inside the venue, the pumpkin-and-pinecone styling continued with cosy table décor and a Colin the Caterpillar cake that went down brilliantly with guests of all ages.  It was a playful touch that added to the fun, family-orientated atmosphere of the whole day.

As the evening set in, we organised a sparkler moment outside the main steps – a perfect way to bring everyone together before the party really got going.  The glow of the sparklers, the laughter and the crisp night air created one of those simple but unforgettable scenes that autumn weddings do so well.
